NEIGHBORS & ECONOMY
The Lansdowne-Yeadon Elm Street Program plans to implement these Neighborhood & Economy objectives:
Housing Stock
- Increase code enforcement
- Demolish vacant and dilapidated properties
- Upgrade larger rental complexes
- Establish a façade program for homeowners and smaller rental properties
- Partner with service organizations to perform minor repairs on 100+ homes, including Workcamp 2011
- Partner with the Community Action Agency of Delaware County (CAADC) to promote weatherization
Homeowners
- Partner with the CAADC to promote programs
- Partner with Media Fellowship to offer down payment assistance
Social Services
- Host green collar job training workshops
- Host tenant-landlord educational programs
- Partner with the County of Delaware to promote programs
- Partner with CAADC to promote programs
- Serve as a clearinghouse for program applications
Recreational Opportunities
- Establish a youth center and youth activities
- Coordinate arts and theatre activities for youth
- Coordinate 2 public art projects
Partnerships
- Collaborate with local organizations and institutions for community outreach, events, and volunteer opportunities
