The Yeadon Borough Council Recreation Committee will host a public presentation by Temple University’s Master of Landscape Architecture Public Lands Studio. For the Fall 2012 semester, students have been studying and surveying our neighborhood and are looking for community feedback on their final design concepts. Refreshments provided by Yeadon Borough.

Claymobile Creations Reception

Union Gardens residents and local youth who participated in our Claymobile program at the Lansdowne Public Library this fall will be showing ceramic works of art in The Clay Studio‘s third annual Our Community exhibit. Our Community III will feature work from various Claymobile sites in the Philadelphia region as well as individuals involved with The Clay Studio’s diverse programs. The exhibit runs January 4-27, 2013. The Our Community III Opening Reception on the First Friday of January is open to the public. Family members and friends of program participants are invited to attend the Claymobile Reception on the final day of the exhibit. Congratulations to our Claymobile artists!

WELCOME TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Since March 2011, the Lansdowne-Yeadon Elm Street Program has served a diverse suburban neighborhood with a celebrated heritage. Our community lies in the Boroughs of Lansdowne and Yeadon and boasts Victorian mansions, contemporary homes, rowhouses, and historic apartment buildings as well as three neighborhood parks and lush street trees. Just over the rail bridge are the cultural attractions and businesses of downtown Lansdowne. A pleasant train or bike ride away is the city of Philadelphia.

Neighborhood Newsletter

The Fall 2012 issue of The Leaflet, the Lansdowne-Yeadon Elm Street Program’s newsletter, has been delivered to all houses in our neighborhood. You may also download this issue as a PDF.

2013 HOME IMPROVEMENT SURVEY

The Lansdowne-Yeadon Elm Street Program will launch a major home improvement program in 2013. As a neighborhood resident, we need your input in planning the program. We plan to offer matching grants to eligible property owners and will continue to coordinate free services, such as rain barrel installation and tree planting by volunteers. Take the Survey!
